Have you ever thought about getting paid for what you know? Would you like to know how to start a successful coaching business?
Marc Mawhinney is an expert at coaching others on how to effectively position themselves as an expert, in order to get paid top dollar for their knowledge. He joins me for an in-depth conversation on the Go For Launch podcast.
Marc is on a mission to help coaches build stronger businesses. He has a passion for entrepreneurship, having started a number of businesses in his life and growing one to 100 employees.
After becoming a coach, Marc saw the struggles that other coaches face while trying to build a successful business, and decided to do something about it. He launched Natural Born Coaches, a daily podcast where he interviews successful coaches to share their advice with listeners. He has created a number of innovative programs to help coaches get more clients and less stress, including his 6 week “Seize Your Niche” program.
In the show, Marc talks about the rise and fall of his first company (in the real estate industry). He also talks about the dangers of growing too quickly and not having mentors early on.
After recovering from his real estate business closure and taking a “9-to-5” job, he began coaching on a part-time basis, which led to his current full-time consulting business. His advice touches on getting past the “hourly rate” consulting trap in order to get paid for the value you provide.
Marc also gets into some difficult topics, such as the challenges of being an entrepreneur on marriage and family life.
